The Message 11 – Economics in Islam – Part 1


Originally aired on January 16th, 2008. This episode deals with the total system of economics in Islam. Specifically outlining the real reasons and the mercy behind why riba (Usury, interest) is prohibited in Islam. We also discuss Zakat and its social implications. The Message is an English Language radio talk show broadcast on DWDD 1134Khz in Manila, Philippines. The show airs live on Wednesday nights from 7pm-8pm and is rebroadcast on Friday nights from 11-midnight. The program deals with Islamic issues and relates Islam to listeners as Muslim and non-Muslim alike. The Message seeks to bring a balanced understanding of Islam and to eliminate false impressions of Islam given to it by the mass-media, extremist groups and radical evangelical movements.
